Background Details
Bogale Turiku, farms this tasty dry processed batch of beans on a 30-acre plot in Banko Chelchele Kebele of Gedeb Woreda which is south of Yirgacheffe and just west of the Oromia region. Before, this type of coffee was distributed through Yirgacheffe Coffee Farmers Cooperative Union. Now, it is directly sold from the Bedhatu Jibicho, an organization formed by Bogale Turki and a number of his neighbors.
This is an example of liberalizing the market in Ethiopia, encouraging development and one that will further benefit every roaster, importer, and producer in the supply chain.
The coffee is processed naturally, as a dried cherry. As such it retains plenty of juicy fruit flavors.
It gives the impression of a fruity tea: peach, kiwi, blackberry, lavender, blackberry, earl grey, and citrus flower. It leaves a wonderful aftertaste in the mouth.
